A debut is an audience’s first introduction to an athlete in a new organisation. For Ruziboev, that introduction lasted 77 seconds. The short duration became part of the fight’s story, but the result still belongs to a particular opponent and a particular career chapter.
A UFC debut is not the same thing as a first professional fight. Joining an organisation does not mean an athlete has only just begun competing. The word “debut” here refers specifically to his first UFC appearance.
