Volkanovski says he and Gaethje will vacate titles for superfight

Alexander Volkanovski says he and Justin Gaethje will both vacate their belts and then fight a non-title superfight. First, Volkanovski must face Movsar Evloev at UFC 333 on October 24 at Etihad Arena.

Volkanovski is the featherweight champion and ranks No. 2 in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings. His record is 28 wins, 4 losses and 0 draws. Evloev is unbeaten in 20 fights and is ranked No. 1 in the UFC featherweight division.

Gaethje is the UFC lightweight champion with a 28-5-0 record and ranks No. 3 pound-for-pound. The superfight can only happen if Volkanovski beats Evloev.
